Amos occurs as town in northwestern Quebec, Canada on the Harricana River. These are a Regional County Municipality seat of Abitbi Regional County Municipality. A Northerly West territories where Abitibi was placed was owned per Hudson Bay company & was bought by Canada inside 1869. Abitibi itself was so annexed to the province of Quebec in June 13th 1898 by a federal law.
Amos was a number one colonization point for the region of Abitibi, with colonisation beginning inside 1910. A charter of the town itself go back to 1914. A title come from either a maiden title of the married woman of Sir Lomer Gouin, then premier of Quebec. A independent city on the Harricana flow of any stream, its independent resources come spring a stream & wood products (including paper).
A todays city manager of the city is Ulric Chérubin, who happen to become one of a number 1 (whenever does'nt a 1st) black mayor in the province of Québec.
